I hope you are all having an awesome week! I’ve had this script written down for a while now and I was unsure what to do with it. I thought about making it into a Youtube video or smartening it, polishing it off and transforming it into a well-rounded blog post. None of those options really worked.
So, I decided to create a short visual interpretation of what this blog was about and maybe even intrigue you enough to read more. I’m hoping if you’re here, it worked.
Don’t Stress! I’m writing this blog because from time to time, we need a little reminder that every road has its lumps and bumps. It’s too easy to get caught up in everyday life and start to wonder if we are on track. I don’t know about you but I think I’m at my happiest when I’m not wondering what I’ll be doing in 5 years, 5 months or even 5 weeks but taking things one step at a time.
Often, I struggle to invest too much time and energy into what might be, incase it doesn’t. I can be cautious to fully commit to something in case the path I find myself on, isn’t taking me where I wanted to go; I suppose when you don’t know exactly where you want to go, it’s hard to know if you’re on the right path. As I’ve kept walking, wondering, I’ve bumped into the most amazing people that are making life all the more joyful and that’s one reason for telling you: don’t stress.
I put on my shoes and started this journey with a ‘fuck it’ moment. It was big, bold and decisive. What’s more, it felt really good. Everything that I knew, I left behind; The excitement and possibilities of what lay ahead, drove me forward. It didn’t matter where I was going, I was in it for the ride.
While my creative outlet hasn’t changed as the months and years roll by, my reasons for what I am doing have. Don’t get me wrong – I love (and am grateful for) what I do so much but I’m conscious of making sure what I am doing is for a greater benefit than just my own. There’s been a real switch in my priorities and essentially, in the essence of why I’m doing what I am doing; I’ve got a new found strength and purpose. Much of which, I can’t really explain. We speak of desires to travel, to explore, to get a real taste of what this crazy world is all about. As much I love all of that, it’s no longer a good enough reason for me on it’s own and I long for the opportunity when I can be a torch in a street of darkness.
Then it clicked. Knowing your path and understanding your journey come when you find a reason for ‘doing’; when we are content in what we are doing now, we are no longer so worried about what is to come. It’s okay to keep going so long as you feel like the path you’re on is true to who you are.
I think we all have our own unique ‘some-thing‘ that pulls on our hearts. Go after that. Do so with such boldness, such sincerity and force that nothing can stand against you. If you can do that, it doesn’t matter how many times you get knocked back because you would have built up the strength and the faithfulness to stick it out. It’s crazy what a little bit of faith can do for your situation when you are ‘doing’ for the right reasons.
Take charge; Go boldly and reach impossible, now possible heights.
